Eurorepar Car Service joins forces with Autotech Recruit

·      Eurorepar Car Service has teamed up with Autotech Recruit to help network members fill temporary vacancies over busy summer period

·      Industry data points to an escalating skills shortage, with technical and workshop positions especially hard to fill

·      “Working with a trusted industry leader like Autotech Recruit enables our members to plan for known periods of capacity shortfall”, Nick Taylor, General Manager, Eurorepar Car Service

July 2022 – Eurorepar Car Service ERCS has teamed up with Autotech Recruit to ensure members of the Stellantis-backed garage initiative aren’t left with shortfalls in capacity.

Members of Eurorepar’s national network will receive preferential rates from the automotive specialist recruiter, helping to fill temporary vacancies at short notice and keep garages as profitable as possible over the busy holiday season.

Eurorepar garages wishing to use the service have access to an easy-to-use Autotech Recruit portal, which streamlines the booking process and removes the hassle of scouring multiple websites and platforms in search of suitable candidates.

With holiday season in full swing and the automotive skills shortage apparently worsening, the move comes at a time of maximum need in the aftermarket. According to data from Autotech Recruit, over 80% of automotive bosses have admitted that since the pandemic they have found it increasingly difficult to recruit skilled staff, with 90% reporting that workshop and technical roles are the hardest positions to fill.

This concerning trend is also borne out in recent analysis from the Institute of the Motor Industry, which revealed that job postings for all automotive occupations for March 2022 show a 51% increase in postings year-on-year.

Nick Taylor, General Manager for Eurorepar Car Service, said: “One of the main workshop capacity constraints that we see is technician availability. Holidays, sickness, leavers and recruitment issues all contribute to the ability to sell productive hours. This, coupled with an escalating skills shortage across the automotive sector, is causing more than a few headaches for garage owners.

“As a network, we are always looking for new ways to support our members and remove barriers to success. This partnership is just another example of that ethos in action. Working with a trusted industry leader like Autotech Recruit enables our members to plan for known periods of capacity shortfall, and I urge all centres to take full advantage of this service.”
